0 STAR. NIGHTMARE EXPERIENCE WORST SALON EXPERIENCE THEY RUINED MY HAIR & BURNT IT OFF. PLEASE IF YOU LOVE YOURSELF NEVER GO TO MAISON DE JOELLE SALON FOR ANYTHING TO DO WITH HAIR.
I went to the festival city branch but I wouldn’t be surprised if the other branches were just as horrible. I booked for a root bleach only & the obviously inexperienced hairstylist acted like she knew what to do but truly had no clue. I initially had healthy & lively hair because I took really good care of it & I left with very damaged hair. Firstly she put so much bleach on my roots disregarding the simple fact that bleach expands & will inevitably break off my already blonde hair. She took over an hour putting the bleach on only my roots. This then burnt my hair off further. She didn't put foils or even a clear bag on top of my head to help the bleaching process. Instead she just kept adding on more bleach because she thought it would bleach the orange tones of my roots faster which in itself is a big no no. She started MASSAGING the bleach into my hair, what hairstylist massages bleach into someone’s scalp. She never came to check on my hair to see if my hair was stretchy (which means it’s breaking off) I had to do that myself & then started to panic as I saw my hair stringing off from the roots. So much of my hair fell in the wash process I’m sure of it. Then she dried my roots only & put the blonde hair dye on my roots & then put the dye on the wet lengths of my hair. I questioned her on that. How in the hell do you get that wrong. Who puts hair dye on wet hair surely not a proper hairstylist. Anyways, she left the dye on for 15 mins ONLY which made no sense & in this process she also started massaging the dye into my hair & listen when I tell you the pulsating pain my scalp went through which explains all the scabs I had on my scalp that took more than a week to heal. After washing it off I went to the mirror & saw chunks of my hair falling off. While the roots didn’t even match the lengths whatsoever. I had hot roots & silver spots on the roots from over processing. I started panicking at this point & crying my eyes out. The manager came & took me into a private room since by that point a lot of their clients witnessed the horror. The hairstylist tried to fix my hair & I told her multiple times without any patience at this point that I want my roots to match the lengths & that’s it. She mixed up the dye & started applying it to my hair while the manager stayed in the room supervising the entire time which I asked her to do. A couple of mins after applying the dye & when I reminded her the color I wanted she left the room & came back with another bowl of dye & I was confused at that point as to what she didn’t understand when I said I wanted the same color as my lengths the first time. She put on the dye from the new bowl & only left it to process for less than 10 mins after I realized it was brown & darker than the blonde hair I came in with. I started to panic & told her to wash it out since she was also massaging the dye in which I commented on this time & said how incorrect that was. She dyed my roots a hideous dirt brown color. Naturally I was about to start war panicking to the max. The manager & the hairstylist thinking I was some inexperienced dumb client kept trying to convince me my hair was not brown & actually blonde & if I washed it with purple shampoo it would get lighter. In what world. I started to yell at this point listing every wrong thing she did to my hair & how my hair is falling in chunks which they kept denying as if my eyes were deceiving me. I went into the salon as a blonde & left with a hideous dirt brown color in chucks & spots of my hair, like a blonde chick who just finished rolling around in the dirt & mud. I wish I could post some photos of the fiasco but for religious purposes I can’t. So after ruining my hair three times. I left the salon a whole day wasted from 2pm to 9pm & I felt like I was being tortured the entire time. I’m a fairly patient person. I hope anyone who is thinking about getting their hair done at Joelle salon reads this very long review. Please do not go to this salon for anything hair even my friend who went to get her hair toned at Joelle left the salon unsatisfied. Thankfully I found a great salon who fixed my hair back to blonde but that also came with a price because of the damage the hairstylist working at Joelle caused to my hair. So I say this again, DO NOT WHATSOEVER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES GO GET YOU HAIR DONE AT the Maison De Joelle Salon.
